Youth & Children's MinistriesThe main goal of our youth and children’s ministries is to provide opportunities for our youth to grow spiritually closer to God. We want to provide a warm and supportive environment where our youth and children can count on the love and support of our extended church family. They have their own Sunday School classes and Wednesday night bible study. It is important to us at Warrensville to provide Christian fellowship for our youth and children. We want them to know that being a Christian does not mean that you cannot have fun, so fun activities are scheduled often. We want the kids to have fun while they are interacting with other Christian youth.
In the past we have taken the children skiing, to Carowinds, to the Polar Express in Bryson City, to the Corn Maze, to the movies, to Tweetsie Railroad, fishing, to the park, and to Lazy Five Ranch. The kids are encouraged to involve non-church friends on these outings as part of our outreach. Our Bible School is one of the main focuses each summer to create excitement for our church kids and to reach out to share Jesus with other children in the community. We also plan a special Easter program to share the meaning of Easter through fun activities each year.
Also important to us is giving back to our church and community. Our youth are involved in activities that help them realize that they can make a difference in our world and in other peoples’ lives. We host an annual Valentine’s dinner banquet for the adults in our church and conduct at least one day each year that is fully dedicated to local mission work. We also go to Samaritan's Purse in Boone to help process shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Our youth have also conducted bible schools in Butler, TN and Cranks Creek, KY in communities that are in desperate need of God’s word and salvation. They have also done missions with MFuge in Nashville, TN and Big Creek Missions in Leslie County, KY. Our youth loves to do missions and are always happy and willing to help anyone who needs it in any way that they can.
Here at Warrensville, we also want to give our youth opportunities to share the talents that God has given them as future leaders with youth Sundays, where the youth and children plan and conduct the entire worship service—from the music, to bible readings, to bringing the message; the entire service. We are continually looking for other opportunities for our youth to get involved with God’s work.
Our youth workers are a dedicated, caring group who volunteer their time to make sure that we have a strong program with strong Christian role models who develop valuable relationships with our kids from the nursery on through childhood, college, and even through adulthood. The support for our youth at Warrensville is phenomenal. Our church understands that we must reach out to our youth—to love them, support them, and help them to grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. “They are not the church of tomorrow;
they are the church of today.”
