“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” - Matthew 25:35

The WBC food pantry exists to help fight the war on poverty and hunger in Ashe County, while sharing the love of Jesus with each person we meet. God has so abundantly blessed our church to be able to serve in this way, and actively be the hands and feet of Christ in our community. We strive not only to provide food for their physical hunger, but generous portions of kindness and grace to feed their spiritual and emotional hungers as well. All of God’s children have great worth in His eyes, and that is how we want to treat each one who comes to us for food. We pray that the Lord would help us to use the resources He has entrusted us with effectively, as we seek to meet these needs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I need to bring in order to receive food?
The only thing you are required to bring is yourself and a means of transportation.

How often may I receive food?
You may receive food from us once per month on the second Saturday.

Am I able to receive food outside of normal Food Pantry hours?
We distribute each month’s food during our normal operating hours and do not keep food on hand throughout the week. We also operate solely through volunteers who are only able to be here during normal operating hours.

Am I able to have food delivered to me?
We currently do not offer food deliveries.

What type of food will I receive?
We cannot guarantee any certain items, but typically have a variety. We do our absolute best to distribute food evenly among families as determined by the size of the family.

Do I need to arrive early?

Although it’s not necessary, you may arrive a little early if you’d like, but please be aware that no food will be served until we open the pantry at 9:30.

Where do I go once I get there?
When you arrive, you will enter at the top of the hill at the Warrensville United Methodist Church parking lot entrance, and register or get your number if already registered. You will then be directed to the bottom of our church steps, where our team will bring out a box of food made specially for you. After you have received your food, you may use the exit at the lower end of our parking lot.

Please let us know of any spiritual need you may have so that we can pray with you while you are here.
